Shipping Information
NOTE! WE WILL BE CLOSED MONDAY, MARCH 15 THROUGH MONDAY, MARCH 29! Time for inventory, spring cleaning, and family sewing! Non-sewn items (hair pins, treadle belts, some bonnets, etc.) may be ordered and will be shipped during this time. THANK YOU for your patience & happy SPRING!
Since many of our items are custom made and not pre-made, normal order processing and shipping time is approximately 10 to 20 business days from receipt of payment. Please note that I sometimes get backlogged with orders, or illness/family business may cause an interruption, therefore shipping can run slightly past this time frame. If you need your order by a certain date, please contact me. I will work with you, and often can bump your order up if need be. If your order consists of only non-sewn items (patterns, hair accessories, etc.), it will be shipped on the next business day or two. We ship using USPS Priority Mail only, which takes 2 to 3 days to arrive once shipped. We ship only on weekdays - we are closed Saturdays and Sundays. Shipping Cost
The USPS has done it again! Shipping prices are rather convoluted now, based on weight and geography, even with Priority Mail under a pound. I now base your shipping costs on your order total and Western US (west of the Mississippi River) or Eastern US address. Refer to our shipping chart below. The shipping & handling will be automatically calculated in the shopping cart when you check out.
International Orders
If you are ordering from outside of the United States, the basic shipping charge is $12/$16.
For international orders over $50, shipping cost is $25 to include insurance and for Canadian orders over $50, shipping is $20.
If shipping is higher due to the weight of your order or your locality, I will calculate the shipping for your order and send you a PayPal bill for any remaining charges that apply. It is our desire to ship out your coverings as soon as we receive your order. That being said, we are a family owned and run business and our desire is seldom achieved. We do our best to have orders out within four weeks (20 working days). Bayley's Notes is a good place to see if there are things going on with us that would slow us down. Besides weekends, we have regular store closing times for holidays and vacations - see our Store Schedule. Orders may be placed during our off times, but orders will not be processed or filled until we reopen. Orders placed during closed times will therefore be delayed in shipping. When closing times are coming up, we will post an announcement on the Home Page so you can order before hand. If you have a need for your coverings by a certain time, feel free to contact us. Through the years we have learned to not promise shipping times, but we will do our best to accommodate your needs. Please note that special orders and exchanges may be delayed and take longer than usual. International orders do take longer. Knowing this, we do our best to have them shipped as soon as we can.
