The french twist bun is a very good bun for layered hair or hair that is in the process of growing out.
Brush your hair, then pull it into a low ponytail toward the left side of your head. (Right side if you are a lefty.)

Now start to twist the hair.

Use hair pins to secure the twist. Remember to catch hair away from the bun then turn the pin and slide it into the bun.

Once you have your twist secure, you should have a tail left over. If you have enough hair left over, you might want to go ahead and make the tail into a bun. Secure the bun
with hair pins.
